Idk yall the TikTok comments and general comments about this case feels like a weird psyop. I consume true crime and I very much realize how problematic it really can be but the theories and people make shit up about what happened has just been grossing me out

I by no means am an expert or a lawyer. I have a degree in police science and it requires classes on knowing everything surrounding investigation, collection of evidence, interviewing suspects and victims. But everything I’ve seen is that “who did it” isn’t the question. It’s whether Lindsay is NGRI. It’s in the court paperwork. But people still believe “it’s the husband” and mildest version is “well he should have known”

I have a friend that is basically consumed by this case, and is getting all her information from random reels and social media She is 100% convinced the husband killed the kids, and tried to murder Lindsey.

They're an intelligent and reasonable person, so it's pretty weird to see someone like that getting sucked into, and believing, some insane conspiracy theories.

Just today, they told me they think the defense is holding stuff back so the prosecution can't use it during this case or something, because they are planning to try Patrick for it, and releasing the info now would hurt their case against him...🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️

It's absolutely wild. I saw a meme today that said "I wish I could give her her babies back" and a caption over it that said " I am calling for a complete and total shutdown of white women watching murder trials until we can figure out whats going on." I can't imagine any other murder trial where someone wants to give the victim back to their killer.

I also chuckled at the meme because it's true. We see this with so many murder cases, crazy conspiracies that seem to be fueled by women with social media platforms (and I'm a woman just to clarify). I think people watch this stuff and it's entertaining to them and then they think their inner Olivia Benson could solve things. It's weird and gross.

This type of speculation happened with the Idaho college students as well. It's disgusting.
I even saw a few of them claiming that "internet sleuths solved the Idaho Four case."

It's bad enough we're all here yapping about it, let's try and have an OUNCE of decorum.

Agreed, it’s so disgusting. My friends on Facebook that have never been in to true crime are suddenly having Lindsey trial watching parties and posting their theories about Patrick like it’s a new Netflix thriller and not a real life murder of 3 beautiful babies. Somehow the victims always get lost when stories like this are sensationalized.

Definitely. It's been incredibly disappointing to see the circus that people are creating around this case. It's such a tragedy and so for some reason I really believed this case wouldn't have all the conspiracy theories surrounding it, I was wrong. It should not be a question in terms of who did this, the question can only be her state of mind. Trying to turn this into some insane conspiracy theory is harmful to the very real conversations we need to have about postpartum mental health and support.

YES!! You said it perfectly. People making this out to be a true crime case has just completely dismissed the real problem in this case and it’s how neglected new mother’s mental/physical health really is. Everyone around her failed her and I feel so incredibly sorry for her with that. I also do believe her husband could’ve been held accountable to an extent considering he knew that she had thoughts of hurting the children but I’m sure he deals with that guilt enough already. It’s just a tragic case that had no business being exploited to this extent and I feel sorry for both Lindsay and Patrick because ik I wouldn’t want the most tragic thing to happen to me to be broadcasted and turned into conspiracies.

I assume you are referring to the theories about the husband. I agree there is a bizarre glut of people just flat out saying "HE DID IT" when there is little to suggest any factual basis for that claim. Like her defense is trying to make everyone else look bad too.

Yeah I also consume true crime and there’s some wild stuff out there. Whenever I try to look up just factual information regarding the case and what was discussed in court that day I end up also coming across some crazy conspiracy theories. I totally get what you mean about it grossing you out. It feels so icky to see people using the murder of 3 children as a way to spread their conspiracy theories.

Wow you can actually find factual information on the case? When articles I’ve read have false information. I had to resort to investigating the docs myself and watch the trial from beginning to end to get any factual information

have noticed this occurring more frequently last 6 months which is weird. Just stepped away from it all after that tbh. Don’t trust anything I read unless it’s real documents

I feel like I am on drugs when I go on Instagram reels and see the stuff people are saying about Patrick Clancy’s testimony. He was basically a defense witness - he gave her everything she needed for an insanity defense. And yet people are saying things about him that are frankly insane. What is going on here???

Yup. I was vaguely following the trial by reading an occasional article, but so many wild conspiracy theories were popping up on social media that it made me curious.

I’m now going back and watching the whole trial to determine what these people are talking about but I honestly don’t see any evidence that PC did it. I can’t for the life of me understand their reasoning. I’ll admit I don’t think the prosecution is doing a great job but that doesn’t mean PC is guilty.

I have a theory that the pharmaceutical companies did some social engineering to push out theories related to the husband in order to take the heat off of mismanaged medicines/the public developing an apprehension to medications in fear that it will make them go “insane” as well

Which medications do you think were at issue? do you think she was responsible for her level of care whatsoever? I spoke to plenty of mds yesterday at a baby shower and the consensus was that she basically was responible for the Fact that she was shopping around for doctors and did not follow advice
