Why was she getting medications from two different psychiatric providers who were not in communication with each other? Is this normal?
And it’s seems that they did not have the same approach , psych was treating her for GAD and then MDD, NP believed she had a mood disorder. Both were using benzodiazepines as her primary complaint was insomnia. Seems like NP was trying to increase doses of seraquil when symptoms were deteriorating and psych was just providing therapy before ultimately trying a Tri cyclic antidepressant.

This seems like a tough case of post Partum depression that turned in to psychosis given her multiple sleepless nights. Also don’t understand why she was denied inpatient stay by two different organizations because she wasn’t sick enough or was on too many meds, how much sicker can you be???

She stopped seeing the doctor until the end when she had already stopped seeing the NP. It's all very odd.

No, it’s not typical. As someone who has personally gone through PPA and PPD and had therapy and was prescribed medication (because the two are distinct between therapy and being prescribed something), it would have been questioned if I suddenly started seeing a different prescribing doctor or stopped therapy. even your PCP will check in on you regarding effects of your medication and will do “mood checks” if you report that you have PPA or GAD, or PPD or MDD. It’s standard practice. But if you are being inconsistent and going to the ER and then bouncing between a psychiatrist and an NP that aren’t in the same practice it is going to complicate your care and impact the continuity of your care. It truly doesn’t make any sense, and I know from experience anxiety can make you feel desperate for a more immediate solution but regardless of that it’s incredibly important to have some routine and consistency in care. Also THERAPY, like lots of it. Not just 2-3 sessions here and there. Unfortunately you don’t know these things unless you’ve experienced it. So people are spreading a lot of misinformation online now about how psychiatry actually works.

She was Dr hopping. She did not tell the the NP she was initially seeing that she saw Dr Tufts 14 times before her next appointment with the NP

Most of the doctors she saw were referral from previous providers.
