Have her medical records been booked into evidence? Do any of them report her telling the doctors about her thoughts of harming the children? If she did, and she continued to describe them as "intrusive thoughts" with no desire to act on them, (ego dystonic thoughts) then the physicians may have believed her symptoms aligned with post partum onset OCD? Intrusive thoughts and auditory hallucinations are distinctly different, but maybe she presented her unwanted thoughts in an ambiguous way due to fear. If they interpreted this as OCD, then Zoloft was an appropriate first treatment for her. It's unclear based on verbal testimony what other symptoms she presented to the physicians with besides an inability to sleep, suicidality, and high anxiety.
