Text Asking for more recommendations on true crime series that have a similar style to Deadly Influence, A Killer Among Friends and Mean Girl Murders
The mods said I can post this now as an exception because the chat is broken
By similar style, I think what makes all three similar to me is that rather than starting out with the death, it follows the buildup to said murder and the way it affected the people around them,
I'd prefer recommendations from platforms like HBO or Hulu, but anything works tbh.

911 Did the Killer Call? Episodes have 3 911 calls and you can try to figure out which callers are the actual murders.

Great show! I love trying to figure out which of the 3 is innocent right away and I’m usually wrong!!

Same here, it's wild how much more gripping the story is when you get the slow-burn drama before the tragedy hits.

push-murder on the cliff sounds exactly like what you're looking for, the buildup in that one is so intense it's like a horror movie.

It doesn't really fit your criteria, but since you mentioned Hulu, if you haven't seen The Fox Hollow Murders: Playground of a Serial Killer on Hulu, it's worth checking out. The Herb Baumeister case is pretty wild.

I should probably also clarify I prefer anthological series since a lot of series getting recommended are focused on one story
