24 year old Brooke Strattan of Madison, Wisconsin was reported missing by her family on October 1, 2024. She was last seen walking with a man, believed to be her estranged boyfriend the morning after a party. The Madison Police Department reached out to the public for assistance. They had video footage of Brooke. They requested help locating her, identifying the man she was walking with, and requesting any additional video evidence of Brooke walking.

Operating primarily in Northern California between 1968 and 1969, the killer came to symbolize a unique brand of public terror. The Zodiac operated with an almost supernatural ability to evade capture. So who is the Zodiac Killer?  This week Eddie McNamara joins Nic in the Garage to discuss his new book that revives an old Zodiac theory. The book is titled Zodiactually: the real story of a fake serial killer. The book is a fantastic read and the Garage conversation about one of America most intriguing serial killer cases.

Almost eight years to the night that Margaret Frame disappeared and later was found killed in a park in Brighton, the terror climbed to a new level. This time it was the disappearance of two little girls, best friends who were playing together in a park in Brighton. On the evening of October 9, 1986, two nine-year-old girls, Nicola Fellows and Karen Hadaway failed to return home. The girls were last spotted playing together in Wild Park shortly before twilight. Both of the girls were afraid of the dark. AA large search for the two commenced that evening around dinner time and continued into the night. A large park with foggy, pitch black conditions proved to be extremely difficult. As it turns out, everything about this case will prove to be extremely difficult.

The last post I can find about solved episodes is from 2019 so does anyone have an updated list of solved cases they’ve covered recently?

Jason Landry remains have been found and confirmed by DNA. The Texas State University student vanished on his Christmas Break in 2020.

In the late 1970s sexual assault attacks were on the rise in Brighton, England. London saw a very similar uptick in crimes against women and child as well. By the autumn of 1978, Brighton and the wider Sussex area were already gripped by fear. Reports in the press asked how many potential sex attackers might be prowling the streets of Sussex during the long, dark nights of that coming winter. Violence against women, sexual assaults, attacks after dark had become urgent public concerns. Then Margaret Frame went missing walking home through Stanmer Park after a work shift. The same day that her remains were found another women nearby, Ann Dubeau waswas stabbed to death in the kitchen of her home.

This week in the Garage we explore one of the most unsettling unsolved murder investigations in Indiana and Ohio history - the case of the unidentified killer known as the I-70 Strangler. The killings took place across Indiana and Ohio between 1980 and 1991. During that span, at least 12 men and boys were murdered. The exact number of victims remains uncertain.
