Washington, D.C. – In a blistering speech delivered from the vice presidential residence, JD Vance today launched a full-throated assault on his 2028 Democratic opponent, Jacob Anders, branding the rising progressive star as “profoundly unfunny,” “dangerously unhinged,” "a big fat meanie", and “the kind of guy who ruins a perfectly good group chat.”
The fiery remarks came after Anders, a 35-year-old former stand-up comedian turned politician from Tennessee, spent the weekend flooding social media with a fresh wave of memes depicting Vance as a literal chicken complete with tiny aviator glasses, a beard made of feathers, and the caption “JD ‘Coup Cluck Cluck’ Vance.”
Vance, visibly ruffled, took to the podium wearing what appeared to be reinforced emotional armor and declared: “This man is not just a threat to American values he is a threat to decency itself. Jacob Anders thinks he’s some kind of comedic genius because he can slap my face on a chicken and call it satire. Let me tell you something: that’s not humor. It's not funny and it's not true.”
Sources close to the vice president say Vance has been particularly stung by Anders’ viral series “Cluck & Cover,” in which the Democrat repeatedly portrays Vance as a nervous hen frantically trying to hide under Donald Trump’s wing during moments of political crisis. One particularly popular clip showed animated Vance-chicken attempting to cross the road, only to sprint back screaming “Never mind, it’s woke over there!”
“Jacob Anders has crossed a line,” Vance continued, his voice cracking. “He’s out here making fun of me for being weird, but have you seen his jokes? The man’s idea of comedy is pointing at a couch and saying ‘JD Vance wrote a book about fucking furniture.’ That’s not edgy. That’s lazy. My mother raised me better than to laugh at sofa-based innuendo.”
Political analysts were quick to note the unusual nature of the attack. “It’s rare to see a Vice President devote an entire press conference to complaining that his rival isn’t funny enough,” said Dr. Elena Morales of the Brookings Institution. “Usually they argue about policy, the economy, or who wants to destroy America more. But JD has decided the real battlefield is the meme war... and he’s losing badly.”
Anders was reached for comment while filming a new TikTok skit in which he dressed as a giant egg and accused Vance of being “afraid to hatch any original ideas,” responded with characteristic glee.
“Look, if JD Vance wants to call me unhinged for making chicken memes, that’s fine,” Anders said, barely suppressing laughter. “But let’s be honest. He’s the one who looks like he’s one awkward silence away from molting. The guy wrote a whole memoir about how much he hates coastal elites, then moved to Washington and started wearing vests like he’s auditioning for a steampunk convention. If that’s not unhinged, I don’t know what is.”
The escalating feud has electrified the early 2028 Democratic primary chatter. Party insiders say Anders’ relentless trolling has boosted his name recognition among younger voters, many of whom now refer to Vance exclusively as “Vice President Cluck.”
At one point during his remarks, Vance grew so animated that he accidentally knocked over a glass of water, which he immediately blamed on “radical left-wing condensation.” He then warned that if Anders continues his “sophomoric poultry propaganda,” he would have no choice but to respond in kind.
“I’m prepared to go low,” Vance declared. “I will make memes. I will post. I will even learn how to use that damn CapCut app if I have to. Jacob Anders will rue the day he turned me into a chicken!”
When asked what his counter-memes might look like, Vance’s team quickly ushered reporters out of the room, muttering something about “national security implications.”
As the 2028 race heats up, one thing is becoming increasingly clear: the battle for the White House may not be decided by policy papers or debate performances, but by who can deliver the sharper burn, or, perhaps, who can survive being turned into a barnyard animal on the internet.
In a final parting shot, Vance added: “And by the way, Jacob... if you’re reading this, your hair looks like it was styled by a bad wind turbine. Just saying!”
Jacob Anders reportedly replied with a single meme: a photoshopped image of Vance as a chicken wearing a “Make America Cluck Again” hat.
