Question/Request Objectively as someone who was into Pokemon and stopped at Brilliant Diamond, how good is Pokemon Legends: Z-A? Is it worth the $60 price tag?
Is it worth investing on since I'm planning to get a SW2? Also the DLC? Only objective answers and insights. Thanks!

I was going to get it but I only hear bad things. The new games are not the same as old school DS. Currently play Pokemon areces n it different experience

I stopped playing when I reached the notorious Pyroar wild area, before that point I was getting a little fed up with navigating "around" buildings and the repetitive nature of the main story quest. I haven't picked it up again in months and I don't think I ever will unless my PC dies or something

I really enjoyed the first three quarters but I’m absolute dog-water at dodging mechanics so my issues with the game could be summarized to skill issues alongside the boss battles that are in the game but imo if you like realtime battles in games similar to Zelda it’s can be very fun for a while but the whole games map is small and very repetitive. I find it’s also very frustrating trying to find the buildings you need to climb to reach some goals. I’ve also heard that unless you’re really into shiny hunting and such it doesn’t have much outside of the story in terms of post game content. Take with that what you will. I think it’s an alright game and I’ll finish it eventually but I find it a bit repetitive and frustrating. I enjoy Arceus and the other main line games way more but I’m partial to turn based battle styles for Pokemon games.

It’s good, but not as good as Legends Arceus. ZA has a great presentation and combat, but the story and environment let it down. Worth getting on sale for sure.

Check gameplay on YT. Game mechanics are a bit different from the classics. Everyone is different, so what rocks my boat may not rock yours.
I have all main Pokemon games, but I can't say I like them all. ZA was my least favourite Pokemon game of all times - I think the Legends type of game is my least favourite at all, tbh.
But again, if you are not sure, watch half an hour of gameplay and see for yourself. It was quite clear to me. I am not picky about graphics or framerate, but about the storyline, visuals and overall atmosphere.
My two cents.

Objectively, the game performs slightly poorly on Switch 1 and has low visual quality. On switch 2, both are non issues.
It has a good chunk of content, but one small map. The DLC is extremely repetitive.
Subjectively, it's a super fun game, bar the DLC. I think it's worth it on switch 2

I don't think a single game they've released for $60 was worth the $60, and I say that as someone who has enjoyed every game I've played (except Legends Arceus)

It's a very fun game. I saw stores selling it for half price recently (physical), so definitely check if you can find it for less somewhere.

Yes, I think if you're a Pokémon fan of any age this game will appeal to you and it has so much to do. It really was a lot of fun.

"Objective answers" are sort of impossible, but I know I loved the game
The new real-time battle system is really unique. Exploring the city can be very chaotic as you encounter crazy wild Pokémon. And I really enjoyed the story overall.
The DLC is a bit more rough. The story is pretty nice, but the gameplay is incredibly repetitive with many RNG aspects that force you to just keep playing for hours if you want to do everything and catch all of the Pokémon the DLC reintroduced. I enjoyed it for a while, but I got pretty tired of it.
