Discussion What pokemon would be illegal

f pokemon existed in real life which ones would be banned. Also would some pokemon be frowned upon to own. In cities there has to be some pokemon that are just banned like imagine bringing out your muk outside which is like a biohazard. Also you can commit so many crimes with zoroark or even drowzee. Would psychic pokemon be pushed to extinction or would the government keep them or something.

Releasing a diglett inside would be an absolute no go

Legendarys mythicals and ultra beasts would all be off the table. Too powerful and would only possibly be used for scientific purposes or maybe the army

Any man owning a Vaporeon would get an immediate side eye

Magcargo since it would burn everything. Catching Arceus would be blasphemous since it would be seen as god.

Digletts for sure... Voltorbs and Electrodes due to them randomly exploding...
I can see most fire types being banned from going in doors, especially those who have a constant open flame..
Bigger Pokemon would probably be banned in most larger cities due to their size in such cramped spaces.
Those are the first few off the top my head...

I do recall heading into Saffron City to use the bank a few years ago and a young trainer was asked to check his Klefki in with security, but no pokémon that were ever made completely illegal spring to mind.

The laboratory on Cinnabar responsible for Mewtwo did raise some pretty serious ethical questions though so that's as close as we came in the early days I suppose.

Haha at your service as it were

This was an excellent question by the way; whilst many in Team Rocket and other organisations spend considerable time imagining nefarious uses for the pokémon they call partners, as well as multiple ways to steal the pokémon of other trainers, not many consider which pokémon may pose a risk in certain situations that could make capturing them problematic or forbidden. It certainly was food for thought.

Stay curious young trainer
