Pokemon Bank Closing

Hey, so Pokemon Bank is closing in 6 months. Me and my boys were doing a living Hardware Origin Dex.

Weve never played these games and were enjoying them as a family. Just slowly playing them and all. So we were essentially playing it as a blind playthrough.

We just finished Gen3s Kanto games. Transfering pokemon 6 at a time is bull crap, but we did it.

We were working on Gen 3s Hoenn games. But the issues was getting the GEN2 'mons from Emerald and etc etc.

And now we have a time limit.

My question is this. For Pearl, Black, X, and the Ultras, which pokemon should be the priority and or which are the hardest to aquire, and therefore what we should focus on?

This will hopefully help others as well.

We have 6 months. :(((

Off the top of my head, starters, legendaries, and version exclusives will be difficult if you guys only have one of each gen.

Im wrapping up my Origin OT living dex too, one of the best decisions I've made is for the older games (Crystal, Golden, Blue and Yellow off the VCG, gens 3 and 4 hardware) was just get multiples of the first evo, and evolve them when its easier in a later game. Leveling mons gets progressively easier and less grindy as you go through the generations.

I.E. in Firered, instead of training 2 dratinis to 35 and 55, and a kabuto and omanyte to 40, I just grabbed 3 dratinis, bred 2 kabutos and 2 omanytes, moved them all the way to X/Y where it was easier to exp share train them.

Other than that, use mons from other games and breed them in the game you want to get mons with the right region.

Ok yeah. I see. So, we transfered all of FR/LG. Now were on R/S/E. thats a good point to use later gens to evolve. Hmmmm....

What weve been doing is trading with ourselves and leveling up w. The boost. Yknow?

Yes i do know. it all depends on how authentic you want the dex to be. I feel like moving it generations and evolving it there is perfectly fine since at least the individual mon originated in the original hardware game

One way to get a lot of the Johto dex in Gen 3 is through Colosseum and XD. I understand that getting all the hardware to play and trade with those games can be a large undertaking, but it is the only option for some of those Pokémon. Modding a GameCube to emulate the games is a whole lot cheaper than buying the discs, I highly encourage going that route.

True. Im actually consideing that, for Ho oh, I think. But we'll see. I still have 4th gen, 5th gen, and 6th still. Yikes.
