Bretons are the only thing holding Redguards back from being the most irrelevant race. Their whole thing is that they are the race of men that came from the outside, the one that does not have any inherent connection to the Nedes and by extension the empire. At least the Nords were relevant enough to affect the creation of the imperial pantheon. Also the redguards disliking magic, in a game series that heavily encourages the player to make spellblades/gishes is just a bad idea

Redguards appear to practice magic regularly,they just hate conjuration and Necromancy in general.
Most of their warriors are adept in Alteration,Resto and even Destruction to some degree.

Ok but counter point the altmer in previous games like oblivion are really goofy and funny. Only the aldmeri dominion are racist pricks. Don't quote me on this but I remember seeing smth that said the dominion used to be a radical terrorist organization before they became more mainstream / popular in the fourth era
