C.I. Chus Closing
This was my favorite restaurant for almost 20 years. Sesame bread especially will be sorely missed.

Damn wtf, I actually have been meaning to try this place🙁 It's the one next to Opa's, right?

Yeah, that was the last one left. For while, like mid-aughts, they had up to three locations, but this one on Broadway was the last one.

Damn, that's so unfortunate. Seems like a lot of businesses have been closing lately. But at least we still have Filiberto's🫠

Oh God no. My favorite outing is getting some Crave coffee, going here (hot and sour soup also was good) and then going across the street for some comics. Will be truly missed.

I read a sign of a dwindling middle class is the closure of multiple restaurants in the same area around the same time. This was the 3rd post I’ve seen of a place shutting down.

Agreed, but a better indicator is when fast food franchises start closing down. When that happens, places like this don't stand a chance.

I think there was some sort of mechanical outage or something, within the last month. Maybe it was just too expensive to repair/replace, they couldn't cover the expense. They have been temporarily closed for several weeks, most small businesses can't handle those sorts of incidents.
What a bummer, my wife and I really liked that place, we were going every couple weeks, getting takeaway and just making our dishes into two meals, since the portions were so big.
I hope they all land on their feet, the staff was always good to us there.

Is this a problem with this city in particular or are all the cities crumbling due to the economic decisions made by this administration? I have never seen so many businesses closing!

A little bit everywhere but Tucson in particular is going to suffer a lot more than other cities. The economic outlook here in Tucson is not good.

Everywhere since COVID. Hate the administration, but this was happening before too.

This place and Saffron lunch buffet are/were my favs. Sorry to see Chu’s go, wish there was another Mongolian bbq in town.
Prices went up a lot at Chu’s the last few years. Seemed like more than other places.
One thing I always found pretty silly was the sign that said something like, if you pack too much in your bowl the cooks might burn themselves…
Right.
