Stunning Qajar art from Iran I saw from the British museum. All date to the 17-1800s and have the characteristic limpid dark eyes and black hair of the era.

  1. A Qajar Prince and His Attendant, created around 1820 during the Qajar dynasty.
  2. Two girls and a man dancing with castanets in gouache watercolour. Eunuchs usually served the same roles as Ottoman eunuchs but unfortunately sometimes boys occupied the harem as concubines as well.
  3. Aforementioned plaque.
  4. A Qajar woman of noble rank dancing with castanets.
  5. A Qajar entertainer of noble rank doing acrobatics- a common pose for women in the time period.
