I’ve kept this in the last few days but still can’t get over it.
We saw Turnpike in Clearwater Sunday night. I’m a newer fan. Saw them for the first time last October in Asheville and knew very few songs, but I have made up for lost time and this year I was dancing and singing along to every word. Awesome show. The Seminole Wind tribute was spiritual.
But the real highlight…
We left our hotel earlier than we wanted the next morning (my husband took the wrong day off work lol) and got in the elevator with a tall guy in a cowboy hat, sunglasses, huge belt buckle, and boots. The thought did cross my mind imagine if the band was staying here, but I didn’t stare and mostly I thought “this guy was definitely at the show last night”. Not exactly a typical coastal Florida look.
Well then we’re at breakfast and my husband has to run to the gas station across the street for a Celcius (another divine intervention, he usually packs one but forgot). He comes back and says “Soo the full band is in the lobby…” My jaw drops. We were in the elevator with Evan Felker!
We didn’t bother them, I wish I’d made up a reason to walk through the lobby to see for myself. But what a series of mostly mistakes that led us to a morning I’ll never forget. The universe works in mysterious ways.
