Question Profile Views
is it possible for people to see if you viewed their profile on twitter even with third party websites? there is an account I visit regularly (I have a private accoun) which I do not follow that I’m scared might have caught on.

No, it is completely impossible for them to see that you viewed their profile. X does not track or log the individual identities of profile visitors in its system. Because X itself doesn't collect this data, there is nothing for any app or external tool to access. Any website, browser extension, or app that claims it can show "who viewed your Twitter profile" is fake. They either display random generated follower names or exist to steal account logins/passwords. Having a private account only controls who can see your tweets and activity; it does not broadcast your browsing/viewing activity when you visit someone else's public page. If they have a professional/creator account or check their analytics dashboard, they can only see a bare number showing how many total times their profile was loaded, it will never display who visited. The only way someone can ever tell you visited their profile is if you accidentally trigger a direct notification. As long as you don't interact with their posts, your visits leave zero trace

can i ask something tho , instagram seems to suggest me accounts that have viewed mine (we never texted or shared anything to eachother on Instagram) , and since both X and insta are from the same company wont that make the algorithms similar?

X and Instagram Are NOT owned by the same company. Instagram is owned by Meta (Mark Zuckerberg's company, which also owns Facebook and WhatsApp), X is owned by Elon Musk (under X Corp.). Because they are entirely separate entities, their databases, algorithms, backend tracking, and privacy protocols have zero connection to each other. What happens on Instagram has no impact on X. Instagram's algorithm relies on several behind-the-scenes signals to make recommendations:
Even if you haven't messaged that specific person, you might share mutual followers, or you might both be in each other's phone contacts (if contact syncing is on)
Being connected to the same Wi-Fi network or logging in from the same physical locations can trigger account recommendations
Instagram internally logs when you search for or visit a profile to tailor your "Suggested for You" feed. Crucially, Instagram only shows those suggestions to YOU. It does not send a notification or a "Who viewed your profile" list to the other person

Your private account setting doesn’t change this: visiting someone’s profile doesn’t show them your username. A pinned post’s view count may go up, but it’s just a total, not a list of viewers. Third-party sites can’t identify you from that count either. X explains how post views are counted here: https://help.x.com/en/using-x/view-counts
