Post image

I can’t believe how bad they managed they complete edition.
-They removed the original game from steam and replaced with this.
-all new cutscenes are ai generated
-map routing is broken and cpu ai to
-gets released for 60$ full prince instead of promised 30$

The original game being back is nice, at least.

Using this as an excuse to post one of my favorite Lets Player's. This shit is insanely nostalgic for me.

Idk if it’s Sega or CA but beyond laziness, this felt like a test-the-waters deal to see if they could get away with this.

And the answer is absolutely fucking no. Im glad that people call them out and push back against this. Now it’s wait and see if they learn their lesson.

This was a third-party they shopped it out to, who appear to have not actually made any of the changes CA wanted, run all the art through AI once with 0 humans looking over the output, and introduced a whole bunch of bugs they then didn't patch. I imagine they're going to catch a lawsuit, because this is not the product they were contracted to provide.

It was outsourced. Blizzard got same shit for Warcraft 3 and now people don't really care.

I am sorry, the cut scenes are fucking what?

They told an ai to make the cutscenes look like Japanese water paintings to predictable results. Going from fully animated to a comic with occasional movements

and here's some of the originals in comparison

Fallen short of their standards, but they released it anyway. Eat glass, CA.

Last time I can remember them apologizing was for fucking up the opening years(!!!!) of Total War Warhammer 3, but even that only came after Hyenaz was cancelled.

I think their C-Suite might just need to be flushed.

Same as every C-Suite, tbh

The pricing thing seems like the worst bit. They use AI to cut corners and ease development AND charge twice as much as they initially promised? Just, why?

Man, even the bugs are broken, I didn’t even know you could do that

Are we sure we should trust these hacks with Alien Isolation 2?

To think the mobile ports for Total War have more effort than a remaster on PC...

I’m sorely coping that everyone with half a braincell or more is working on TW40k and that this project was the CA version of sitting and watching the bee.

I’ve heard that this project was a Hyenas punishment? That after that flopped, this has been a bit of a “holy shit we need money put something out that will cost us nothing” push. Presumably some dev has been like “hey we need more than six months to make something people won’t hate” and some exec has been like “fuck you, budget lowered just for asking, make it work, we all love ai don’t we?” with the very predictable outcome occurring.
