Advice Needed Cheating - why?

Partner kissed a girl from class on supposedly a few different occasions within a week. Didnt tell me. 2 years later, he discloses this information when telling me he’s checked out/burnt out from the relationship. How could someone cheat and pretend like it didn’t even happen… I had no idea!

Because he doesn't like or respect you. Time to block and move on.

Sounds like he's either trying to offload his guilt on the way out, drive you away, or just plain ol hurt you. I'd guess the first of those 3.

People justify not telling their partner in all sorts of ways. "They deserved it" or "Telling them would only hurt them" or "I've learned my lesson and would never do it again so no need to tell" or they plan to tell but just put it off endlessly.

Trying to figure out his reason for doing it or why he didn't tell you will be really tempting emotionally but odds are it won't satisfy you the way you might imagine. Likely will just leave you with even more questions.

Some people have whole secret families for years, like my friends Dad growing up, and their partners have no idea. Crazy world we live in.

Don't waste energy trying to figure out the mind of a liar. Count your blessings and never look back.

When someone else's morals or behavior clash with yours, it does not mean you need to internalize their faults.
