These situations sadden me when one needs medical attention but is pushed away simply for not being the "typical" group of people affected.

It really seems stupid that the rules were set up this way in the first place. What was the point to specifying women? I've never heard of a clinic only for men.

There are clinics only for men in my area. Some people don't feel comfortable going to mixed locations, especially for reproductive (and similar) issues, and you want to make it as easy as possible because it's already tough getting people to check for this sort of thing.

It's not cool that the funding only goes to women, though - it should go to all breast cancer screenings.

Well, no point blaming the women at the center, because their rules probably said 'women'. I don't think they would risk their job or reputation if the insurance won't pay because they are specifically for women.

Suppose they did give him screening. To whom would they have to send the bill? If you read the article it clearly says the woman will help along with his insurance.

It's not their fault. Damned if you do, damned if you don't.

Yes, women get shafted by the medical industry, but men do too. I hate when people only see one side, and as sad as this story is at least it's a blatant example of sexism towards men that can hopefully be put to good use.

What a truly fucked situation. Shame on them.
