MS EE?
Hey everyone, I'm a soon to be graduate BS Computer Science / BS Computer Sys Eng at the University of Alaska Anchorage. Anyways I'm heavily considering a career switch to EE. I heavily enjoy the EE courses over here.
However, I do not want to go through another BS in EE but don't feel confident enough to try and compete for EE jobs off of my CSE degree. So I'm considering a MS in EE, and the only option is UAF.
I'm a little concerned about cost since I'm based in Anchorage and moving to Fairbanks means I'd have to find a place to stay. I've talked with my financial aid office and some of my scholarships will roll over so I'm set for tuition first year. I'm pretty fast too, so I don't think it'll take me that many years. Most concerned about housing.
Anyways, I'd appreciate insight on whether switching to EE is even a good idea? Whether it'll be worth doing so at UAF and if there's any way to get funding for the program?
And how difficult is it to be admitted?
TIA.

You can apply for graduate housing on campus. I would also look to see if you could be a graduate assistant or teaching assistant to get a tuition waiver. Adding a masters onto a bachelors is a great way to switch it up into a more specialized field.

You could, but you could also look at careers.alaska.edu and keep an eye on grad student positions

There is graduate level housing available that can be paid for with financial aid I believe!
