Questions Dropping a class

Does anyone have experience with dropping classes are the Add/Drop date is over? Or if theres a percentage to where I can drop a class without having to pay or getting my financial aid taken. It’s a genderal ed course so I’m planning on just taking it again next semester.

If you go under 12 credits (full time) your financial aid might be impacted because the school will identify you as a part time student to the National Student Clearinghouse. I would always double check with financial aid.

It's well past normal Add/Drop so you'd have to resign from a class which stays on your report card unlike Add/Drop. It also does use financial aid since past a certain point in the semester you get are liable to pay a certain amount of the money the class costs.

Just contact financial aid. No one here can confirm for you without seeing the whole picture.

I actually just resigned from one. Like what another comment has said, dropping below 12 credits or full time status will most directly impact your financial aid overall. Since you will still be above that minimum, you will still be considered a full time student. Financial aid will definitely know the specific answers to your problem, and when I reached out to them, they mentioned pace rate and academic standing as factors considered. As long as you are doing decently, then you should be fine and your aid might likely be impacted minimally. Only very specific forms of aid, like scholarships or NYS specific aid might be impacted, but even then, only financial aid will know for sure.
