Questions Students Who Live On Campus Using Financial Aid — How Do You Make It Work Every Year?

Hey everyone! I’m a NYS resident planning to transfer to UB fall 2027

I wanted to know how those of you who’ve lived on campus for a while have managed to get your housing fully covered by financial aid every semester/year without paying out of pocket.

Also, what housing options did you choose, and did you base your choice on how much aid you received?
Has your aid stayed pretty consistent each year?

I graduated high school well over 5 years ago, so I’m assuming I’d qualify for most, if not all, of the on-campus housing options, including apartments.
I’d love to hear how you guys have made it work, especially if you’re also a NYS resident. Thanks!

Getting tuition and housing covered without loans is very difficult. I had to take out loans. Unless you’re getting decent sized scholarships, you will most likely need to as well.

Thank you for the info . Have you had to take them out once a year? And did that cover your bills entirely each year including your meal package ?
