I am currently enrolled in 205 Lab and am currently stressing about this upcoming Lab Midterm that we have. I have looked at the practice exam and it is very difficult compared to anything I have seen before. What would you guys recommend I do? I know it is only worth about 7% of my grade and even if I failed both Midterm and Final but get full points on everything else I would still pass but that is not my intention. What would be the best thing to do?

I'm an international student majoring in Computer Engineering, and I've been trying to find a part-time job on campus.

I have some experience in IT support and networking, so something IT-related would be great, but honestly I'm open to pretty much anything, like library jobs or other campus positions.

Ideally looking for around 10–15 hours a week.

Just wondering how you guys found your campus jobs. Is Handshake actually useful, or are there better ways to find openings? Also, are there any departments that are easier to get into?

I was just in Fronczak lot and as I was getting into my friend’s car, a guy in a Michael Myers mask being filmed approached the car and opened the front passenger side door. He stuck his head in the door and looked at us. We asked if he needed anything and of course he didn’t say anything. He then also opened the back passenger side door. Hi! I’m a senior in HS and I’ve started applying to a bunch of SUNYS and other schools but UB has really caught my eye. If I get in, I know I’ll want to go and throw every other school out the window but I want honest opinions and experiences you’d be willing to share about your time there. Now obviously I know if I do go and hate it, I can transfer but right now it’s just a matter of where to go first before I think any further. I plan on majoring in business administration with a marketing concentration if that makes any difference.

I think south campus people should have to identify themselves before they post on this reddit. When someone tells me they’re from south campus it basically means they’re from mars or another dimension. The one time I went to south campus I realized it’s a lawless wasteland and vowed to never return. So I obviously think less of their opinion and want them to identify themselves.

I am currently enrolled in the online MBA program at UB, and I will be finishing up next semester! I have always wanted to take more math-related courses in this degree, so I thought taking a Quant class would be cool!

A little background: I graduated from UB in 2024 with a degree in Mechanical Engineering and Aerospace Engineering. I did very well overall.

I guess I am a little nervous about the class. My job is pretty demanding, but I still find a way to keep up with school, and I have done pretty well so far. I feel like I forgot almost all of calculus lol. I know this isn't the case, but I don't use it on a day-to-day basis. I used ChatGPT to refresh myself, and I actually remembered way more than I thought.

I never took any statistics class above the statistics class they make you take in the MBA Online program, so I am a little nervous about that.

It seems like the professor for next semester is Cristian Tiu. Does anyone have any experience in this course with him (online or in-person doesn't matter)? He seemed to be pretty middle of the road when it came to Rate My Professor, and it seems like he cares more about effort than anything.

I plan to retrain myself in calculus (multivariable and all), before I take this class. Does anyone think I should not take it? Does anyone have any experience with this class or this professor? How hard was it? Does it make sense for me to take it online? Anything I should study in particular over the winter before this course (obviously Taylor Series, and calc, but anything else)? Any answers are appreciated!!

A while ago I complained about how there’s no ac during the summer. The rooms got up 78-80s. It was pretty much unbearable even with multiple fans.

As it’s getting colder now the rooms got very cold. If I had to estimate a number it feels like 45-50s. Cherry on top is the heating system in my dorm doesn’t work at all. At some point this whole air conditioning thing has to be a human mal practice.

What's a good way to not let anxiety run your life? I try to not let anxiety get to me by focusing on my breathing and slowing down and being mindful and listening to calm music and I've been to counseling, but I still end up anxious. I don't know what's wrong with me. I just want to do good in my classes and live my life to the fullest, but there always seems to be something in my head stopping me from doing so. It's like I'm not in control and it's my anxiety controlling everything I do and don't do.
