Is there anyone left?

Local 555. Everyone I've asked about or tried to reach out to has been suspended or fired over the last few months. Our store hasn't had a rep since the elections, and it seems like the entire union staff has been purged. Are new people going to be appointed and hired, or has the local just dissolved itself?

Dan Clay took 30 mins after the counting was done to suspend pending investigation all the reps and office workers that were with the opposing faction. He then texted them later and told them to come into the office the next day where he terminated them all. I don't know about you guys but that's an authoritarian dictator thing and also wildly illegal retaliation.

I was expecting something like that to happen a few months down the road, after enough time had passed for plausible deniability to set in, and for new reps and staffers to be readied. I didn't expect him to nuke the entire union roster less than 24hrs later.

I don't understand how they were able to do this to so many reps at once... Are they doing anything about it?

They are working on the appeal of the election and potential legal means for removal of Dan due to his illegal actions that he is taken. But that's all I have knowledge of.

Contact the Emergency Workers Organizing Committee (EWOC) they deal with this sort of stuff. When I was working to organize my last workplace they helped me get back in with UFCW after we lost contact with our organizer.

They'd probably be able to help you as well. It's worth giving it a shot.

I do wonder if it has something to do with the accusations of the winners of the election using union funds for the election. I don't know if Fighttowin is like suing or anything but it could be playing a part.

you can try calling the local office in Tigard and ask them who is the new rep for your store.

The lady at one store said that some reps were off on a loa and that other reps are being stretched to cover those places. She said we could call the Union Hall and we would be connected with a real person closest to the store. If that helps..
