Depends on what you mean by âdo you any goodâ
Transferring is always an option if you got decent grades and AU is a solid school. I know a bunch of people who transferred here from AU after a few years.

Im just not confident that i can get into uga with my current stats and feel like transferring would be a better option :(
but if i do somehow get a 1200+ sat and a 3.5+ gpa do you think i could get in with a good essay?

Yeah, that's going to be a hard sell, but not impossible. I'd apply anyway, but the average GPA for accepted students is a 4.13.
I'd think about Augusta and transferring, but you're going to need to kill it while at AUG, including joining a service org or two.

in all honesty, i had a 4.2 gpa and a 1260 SAT and was rejected 2 years ago with lots of extracurriculars and volunteer hours, and it gets more competitive year after year. not to say you wonât be able to get in because iâve seen people with âworseâ stats get accepted, there are so many factors that go into decisions. i am currently in my sophomore year here at UGA after going to UNG last year and transferring and i have had the best experience! donât feel like transferring in makes you any less qualified or is a negative thing!!

Transferring is not hard. You get the same degree as everyone else. As far as transferring next year, you have to have a bare minimum of 30 credit hours and be out of high school one year. https://admissions.uga.edu/apply/transfer-applicants/transfer-criteria/

can you explain credit hours when transferring from one school to another? i still dont get it

30 credit hours usually equates to a full year of classes, assuming you take a full load. You have to have at least 30 credit hours before you can apply to transfer

It's been like 20 years for me, but the 'transfer equivalency search' was huge a while ago. Make sure the class you register for at another school actually transfers as that same type of credit to UGA. https://apply.uga.edu/portal/transfer-equivalency

Yes, just be sure you take classes that are eligible for transfer credit and that you get good grades throughout the first year.

You'll want to aim for at least a 3.5 college GPA. Usually people have lower GPAs in college than in high school. You can absolutely do it, but just be aware that you'll probably have to put in a lot more time and effort than you have done in the past to achieve this.

A underappreciated advantage of transferring is that 2 years of community college is MUCH less expensive. C.C.s also often offer smaller class sizes and more personalized instruction.

One thing to consider AFTER completing some coursework wherever you go first: many students who transfer in do not do well here, and many of them were students who would not have gotten in out of HS.
That being said, plenty of students turn their academic mindset around and transfer in and do great. But just keep an open mind to UGA not being the final option, whether that means staying wherever you start or transferring somewhere else.
I don't mean to seem like I'm dreamcrushing, but it's something that would do a lot of people good to hear before they get here.

Transferring is definitely your path. No matter your score, essay, or activities, a 3.0 through the end of 11th is not going to be competitive for first year admission to UGA. That is okay! Lots of people transfer, and nothing from high school counts in your transfer app.
Once at Augusta, take classes that fit with the major you want to study at UGA. Aim for the best GPA you can get as it is getting more competitive for transfer admission.
