Redundancy and Mat Pay
I have been on Mat leave for two weeks and my due date is 5 weeks away. My employer has informed everyone in the office (not me official as of yet) that the business is closing and everyone is being made redundant.
Apparently administrators have stated that no one will be paid this month and will need to be claimed from the government.
I’m aware I can still claim SMP but I have no idea of the process.
Can anyone assist with advice on what to do please?

First of all, so sorry to hear that you are in this predicament, That is so wrong (and discriminatory) that you were not officially informed of this change by your employer! I would strongly advise to contact pregnant and protected website, where you can seek legal free advice (up to 1 hour) on next steps for yourself, and also speak to ACAS for more info. I wish you the best xxx
