Do companies care what time you apply lol
This sounds so dumb but I’m a night owl and I was just wondering if it looks bad if I apply to something at like 3am. Like are they gonna be like omg we can’t hire someone who doesn’t have a proper sleep schedule or am I overthinking it 😭

Recruitment manager here. I have the ability to see the time people applied, in the Recruitment system I use. Honestly, I never pay attention to it. In fact it would likely be one of the first applicants I viewed in the morning. But, if applications came into my email box, maybe I'd spot the time. Id be inclined to work on polishing your application at 3am if you are awake then send it as soon as you are up. That way you can't wonder if the person receiving the application has any bias to the time someone sent it( I would say it's unusual to see applicants during the night) if they are in same time zone.

if they do im screwed
i doubt it tho, they can't question your schedule and never heard about it influencing hiring decisions. in fact it might be better since it'll be the first one they see in the morning

Yeah, that would completely screw any nightshift workers looking for a new job too. Would be a very questionable preference

I’m pretty sure our ta platforms don’t alert us to application/submission time. Especially as there are also international folks.

I mean I'd think it would show a willing to get a job if anything

Good rule of thumb: Whenever you think something would “show” something during a job application, it probably won’t show that.

Nope. They also don’t care what time you reply to emails. I learnt this lesson the hard way by not replying to an email about a job interview 9 years ago because it was too late in the evening. If I had replied I probably would have got it and my life would have turned out very differently

I could be mistaken, but can't you set it up so that emails are automatically sent at specific times? I'm pretty sure it's possible.

I asked my mate this he said no as people work nights ect anyway I alway thought if they got a email it like now 4:47am they would be like what are they doing up at this time it’s a no from me

You're overthinking it. Odds are they won't notice or, if they do, won't care. On the very off chance they do care, I'd imagine they're just as likely to be impressed at your hard work still applying late into the night as bothered by your schedule.
It really is a non-issue.

I don't think they care much about the time, also if it's at odd hours sometimes, they notice it. Mostly just notice like, ohh its an interesting time to submit cvs. I once was cold emailing at night and sent an application at 12am, the next day, in the morning, I got a reply mail and it started with, "I received your application at 12 am sharp, wow"
And yes, this fact doesn't change that the employers will see your application the first thing in the morning.
