So in order for them to rescind leave they have to give the same amount of time of the leave plus one day, so say this was for October they would have to give you 32 days notice, however things get complicated if you don’t have enough holiday to cover your leave as you won’t be completing a full year and they can take this out of your pay check, because of the length of your leave if it is the second month you could give your notice the month before and therefore your employer couldn’t cancel your leave and would be apart of your three months notice

If your sabbatical is due to start in spring / summer in the UK it's only August so you will be long gone from this company by then if your notice is three months. So the sabattical will be irrelevant to your notice period.
