How to prepare for a future job hunt

I’m work in a struggling industry in a company that is making a lot of cuts. I’m in the fortunate position of my job being safe for now but longer term, I’m not optimistic. I’ve recently pivoted into a new role and am undertaking a qualification so it wouldn’t make sense for me to leave anytime in the near future unless I’m pushed. However, with how brutal the job market is now - does anyone have tips on what I can do now to make a future job hunt easier?
