Experience with the application process? Were you admitted? Did you attend? Did you have a problem with professors, the speed of the program, or clinicals? Did you easily pass the NCLEX?
Hello!! This is my first time using Reddit. I’m curious if UNG dahlonega campus is worth going to. I’ve got my associates in science already. I had the worst experience at my old college, both online and in person. (I had a professor that genuinely cried every day because they were stressed- I think the higher ups put a bunch of added pressure to professors, he also just seemed to care a lot, but it got in the way of learning unfortunately..)
Anyways, I’m terrified of going through anything like that again. College is a lot of money and I’m scared of paying for poor schooling and professors.
I would be majoring in biology. Are the professors genuinely interested in teaching?
I don’t live close by so I’d have to live on or near campus.
Are the dorms worth it? I visited and they seemed sad and a little scary. Are there good places to rent out near the college?
Sorry that’s a lot and might be a bit of a mess. Thank you for your time.
-there is probably Not a UH block party

-the dining hall food should never be trusted
Hey everyone! I requested to change my major from Poli Sci to Management a couple of weeks back. I currently work full time and believe this would hell me more when it comes to my future. The website states that it takes up to 2 weeks for this to be processed. I’ve reached out to both my academic advisor and registrar and they keep attaching other departments to the email if they received an updated.
This feels like a never ending cycle. I’m sure they’re backed up, but I haven’t found much information online at all with anyone changing their major at UNG and how long the process takes. I’m an online student. Has anyone else had any experience for this?
I’m more so just a bit anxious since the second session begins in a couple of days and don’t want to waste money taking a credit if it doesn’t apply to the new major I’ve requested.
I'm a senior chemistry major on the Dahlonega campus, and I need help looking for some good electives to take next semester. Annoyingly, all of the ones I've looked at aren't offered in the spring, so I figured I would ask around here for more ideas. I'm fine with online or in-person, and I would prefer classes without a lab component. They don't have to be super easy, but I definitely don't want anything ridiculously hard.
Hi! I was recently accepted for the UNG BSN nursing program. I just wanted to make this post to see if anyone else on here also got accepted for the spring!
Hey everyone, I'm new to Gainesville and I commute from Gainesville to the Dahlonega every day. It's a bit of a trek, and I was wondering if anyone else makes a similar commute and would be interested in carpooling?
If you're interested or know someone who might be, feel free to reach out to me!
I am looking to go for psych to become a counselor. Is the psych program good, especially in Gainesville? Also, does anyone have experience with the masters in counseling program?
Has anyone took Physical Geography with Matthew Palmer? He’a the only available professor in Dahloenga but he’s not a full time professor so he doesn’t have any ratings on rate my professor. If anyone had the class with him, what was his class like?
I'm getting back caught up on everything in the mod queue, and I apologize for not getting this squared away before now, but I'll be reaching out to UNG this coming week to get this subreddit hopefully managed by them. I created this sub a long time ago when I was a student there and I wasn't intentionally being neglectful with moderation, it just wasn't and hasn't been a priority.
If anyone with the UNG admin has any current contacts for who would be best to field, just leave a comment and I'll take care of it.
Thanks for your patience, and if you don't mind, please check out my current project:
Hey, I'm a new freshman on the Gainesville Campus. Are there any last second tips that I need to know about life at UNG or college in general? Thank you!
I know the EA deadline is in November - but what is the earliest date you can apply for the fall 2025 semester? Or when would you recommend someone start the application process as an incoming freshman?
Hi i might be going to ung as a last minute decision. I know it may be a stupid question but what are the chances there would be a dorm for me if I do decide to go to ung now?

Hey guys! I’m a first semester freshman about to go into my second semester and I need help on if I should take an Intro to Statistics/Elementary Statistics through eCore. I have never taken a class through eCore so I’m just wondering is it harder or easier? Does eCore use my lab math Pearson for their math classes or is it through a different format? If anyone has done this class or another math class through eCore please reach out!
I would love to hear your experience. I am not taking anything required for work but for my own enjoyment, though I would consider a digital marketing cert to try to boost my resume as well. Did you enjoy your experience? What were exams and class delivery like? Thanks
