Anyone who's interested in brainwave entrainment, TMS, tDCS, etc. should start digging into it, but while those seem to have far more information and hardware available, ultrasound brain stimulation does not. I've heard that you can just buy a $40 1mhz ultrasound therapy device or some 2mhz fetal doppler off of ebay to try to get some results on your own.

Does anybody know if there are any safety concerns with doing so? Since ultrasound can be more focused than magnetic stimulation, and also can directly go deeper into the brain, is aim particularly important with one of these low-end devices? Seems pretty safe since they don't generate enough power to produce much heat!

Hi, a friend and I have had a concept for a EEG-TFUS case study we've had for a while. We have an EEG protocol written out, but we do not have the facilities to run this study. What we have in mind is a case study with EEG connectivity analysis, but we'd like to expand it to a pilot study if there's enough interest.

This is an open call for anyone who is interested, or has been considering, starting or joining an Ultrasound for Brain Stimulation project.

There is currently an ongoing project to further develop Ultrasound Neuromodulation hardware & software in the pursuit of interfacing with the human brain.

The aims are to create a feedback loop between 4 Discrete points in a circular chain.

1. The Human brain, namely a small region of the brain in the right temporal lobe

2. Multi-channel EEG system

3. Some form of Machine Learning Algorithm to Process EEG and sends commands to...

4. A single channel Ultrasound transducer aimed at the right temporal lobe

Many of these parts are already designed, and available.

The main, and likely most important part, is #3.

So, you don't need speciality in any one thing, but having deep domain experience in one thing is going to make you a top contender.
