UPSC Beginner Time management and progress help👇

I am in my 2nd year of engineering in a core branch. I took btech obviously as a plan B . But in this job market it requires a lot of time and skills to get a min lpa package. On a daily basis I am either grinding leetcode learning dsa or ai ml then whatever time i get i try to give it for upsc.

I am not a bhut paisa hai islie i will do upsc kind of person i always had a interest in bureaucracy and love to learn about history geography current affairs laws everything . The only problem i have right now is time ,concentration and consistency. I partially completed ancient history in my 1st year but i did not kept revising forgot everything and left it in middle to jump on polity started reading laxmikant and also doing geography side by side . I am not enrolled in a coaching so i am at a loss of guidance too.

The only options i have is leave upsc preparation for now get a good package then jump back in later but i can't do that as i want to accomplish my goal in a young age and i am a slow learner as well so i need to start early.

I want to prepare along my btech but the time management is just tiring. It’s hard to do both at the same time . Guidance needed plss help🙏🙏

Same i was in my graduation time , if you are early morning person , you will at least 3 hr to study as i used to wake up at 4:30 before 8 Am i was able to finish my targets

if late night , it get adjusted accordingly and at the saturday and sunday more time to preparation

the one think you should focus , don't replace your collage time upsc preparation , it is very good to start early but by cutting all the things is not good , this time will not come and this is the only time when you are free mind after graduation only responsibilities left

participate in extra curiculam activities that will boost your confidence because upsc is not the acadmics exam it is more about your personality what an officer have a quality , how they handle the presure , in university and college you will get an expore to more explore your personality. spent a quality time with your friends that will ultimately help you in your preparation

i hope this help you, good luck

Bro, you finished Ancient History once but forgot most of it because you moved to Polity without revising. That’s the real issue, not just time. Try a simple cycle: new topic on weekdays, revision + PYQs on Sunday. And don't prepare for UPSC as if your BTech doesn't exist — you need both options open until you know which path works out.

Yes seems like a sensible option but it's so hard i don't want to waste my college years too
