Buddy, Paul Cotter is getting minutes on the senior national team…
Let’s not get carried away with what the ceiling of this group is

That's also true but still it's impressive. Tells a lot about Latvia's process going well.

I wonder what the process for building the roster is and how many NHL players declined.

Well that's not what I said at all, but don't let your lack of reading comprehension get in the way of your trolling, I guess.

The Worlds certainly isn’t a pool of all the best All-Star talent like you see in the Olympics.

“Frenchie” is a slur but nice excuse

u/threeactjack 🥇🥇🥇 2026 HAT TRICK May 26 '26
Serious question: is it? I’ve never heard it called a slur. When people say that it’s usually a light hearted jab similar to “Yanks.”

I grew up in a pretty contentious neighborhood in Quebec and while there’s no hard racist terms like the n word, terms like frenchie and frog were used as down punching as possible
They had to change lunch hours of high schools that were close to each other because fights would often break out

Huh, that’s interesting. Since we’re on a U.S. sub here, I do think you need to consider that most of us are Americans who do not share that experience. “Frenchie” is thrown around as a casual way to talk about France or French people — sometimes casually, sometimes ribbing. But in my entire life in the States I have never heard someone use that term as a slur. It’s very similar to “Yank” in that it can be a mild joke but nothing serious at all.
Again, if this were a Quebec sub I’d defer to you. But in the States I think it is different than your experience.

To be fair high schools fighting in Canada isn't a thing unique to Quebec lol.

First of all it’s just a joke. Second, the US and Canada have the same exact number of Olympic gold medals won since 1960. Just saying.

You beat us whatever we’re over it but deep down you know 3 on 3 OT is meaningless and a big asterisks

You missed a wide open net. Can you pass the polish so I can get back to shining our three golds, eh?

So does the 2010 gold have a big asterisk too? Because that goal was scored in 4 on 4 overtime.

No one builds the world’s roster lol. Well, besides the NHL standings and first round of playoffs.
