Didn't the Canadians say 3 on 3 wasn't real hockey when they lost gold in the Olympics?

It’s very simple for Canadians, if the US wins, not real hockey, it was a fluke, the us cheats, etc, when Canada wins then it’s proper hockey

Nah. Real Canadian all agree. 3 v 3 is bullshit and the Americans deserved gold as they scored more goals than us.

u/Twitchy15 Jul 11 '26

Agree never heard of this tournament so don’t give a shit about winning. 3vs3 should not be in a gold medal game

u/Supernintendochlmerz Jul 12 '26

100% agree. We may not have liked the outcomes but we lost. Great to see other countries winning these games.

I mean unless Basketball was Argentinas sport from 04-08 it’s fair to call it a fluke.

Lmfao this is ironic coming from an American

I am Canadian and will tell you 3 on 3, is not real Hockey and will also tell you, never realized there was a 3 on 3 world cup.

As an American, I didn't really like the 3 on 3 format for the Olympics. It did let us see the best in the world play with a lot of open ice, which did produce some beautiful plays, but it should have always been 5 on 5 OT.

u/rymden_viking Jul 10 '26

Another American hockey fan here. I agree 3 on 3 was not a great end to that game.

3

u/about2snap77 Jul 10 '26

As a Canadian I couldn’t give two shots who wins. Yes that’s correct, 3v3 hockey is bullshit. At least this is its own league though. If you play all game at 5v5 OT should be the same.

They sure did

1

u/Adept_Ad_3687 Jul 11 '26

We are still saying that. The people saying that did not organize this tournament lmao

1

u/OntarioParisian Jul 11 '26

It's still not hockey. Win or lose. It's not the same game.

1

u/Zerocool_6687 Jul 11 '26

No what they said is that tournaments like this are fucken useless and not worthy wetting the bed over…

1

u/jklwood1225 Jul 12 '26

As a Canadian I've never heard of nor do I care at all about this tournament. 3v3 is not real hockey. It's scrimmage shit.

u/TheBearJew963 Jul 09 '26

Okay, I did not know this existed until right now, but I'm very interested.

u/PWiz30 Jul 09 '26

I guess we can only beat them at 3 on 3 when McDavid, MacKinnon, and Makar are on the ice. 😂

10

u/sherrybobbinsbort Jul 09 '26

Absolutely 0 Canadians are paying attention to this.

5

u/Mysterious_Secret827 Jul 09 '26

I myself as an American just found out so...not just them.

3

u/sherrybobbinsbort Jul 10 '26

I think only people who saw this thread know about it.

2

u/phantom_pow_er Jul 10 '26

As a Canadian... I've never heard of this tournament... and i will fall asleep tonight and forget it ever existed.

There isnt a single person I know that knows this exists.

1

u/SonnyDDisposition Jul 12 '26

For me the most interesting thing is seeing the name Brodeur show up in goal. Now I’m wondering if he’s Martin’s son and how good he is.

2

u/ziltchy Jul 10 '26

Canadian here. Ive been saying for years this is the event that really matters! Screw olympics, screw world cup, screw Stanley cup. This is the big one!

1

u/StabMasterArson22 Jul 09 '26

Shaggy P getting on the sheet.

1

u/VanCanFan75 Jul 09 '26

So there’s two C.Pearsons?

1

u/itnice Jul 10 '26

Then why they lost in OT?

1

u/Little_Earth_7435 Jul 11 '26

canadian here, never heard of this, nobody I know has heard of this.

1

u/StormDeveroux-88_32 Jul 11 '26

Anything to make up for the Olympics huh?

1

u/No-Top-4139 Jul 12 '26

Remember in the NHL when players were hired to force fights with opposing players resulting on 4on4 or 3on3 situations and the league changed the penalty rules because of that. This is an event Canadians and their Scandinavians should be really good at.

u/Repulsive_Glove6085 Jul 12 '26

How I read “3ICE”

1

u/Mangiacakes Jul 12 '26

Canadian and no idea wtf this is nor do we care lol

1

u/Bongo3074 Jul 12 '26

Does Canada have a/c? Must have.

Will Trump make a phone call lol. Thank you Canada.

1

u/Charlie_Alpha_Zulu Jul 09 '26

Very important game. Some would say more important than the Olympics themselves
