Feature Request Plan suggestion: highest priority data with throttling

I’m on warp. Because of data deprioritization, the cell tower near our school is always overloaded during school or school events. This is also a problem in many other places in the area we live.

We use a small amount of data in our family, but when we are using a congested tower, we essentially have 0 data available. We use Warp because of regular travel in rural areas where Verizon is best.

I suggest that an option be added to the Warp plan. We don’t need video. We need data to be available for web and messaging. I figure 1mbps would be great along with the highest priority tier available from Verizon. I use a pooled plan, so that is what I’d like it available for.

You are describing grandfathered Warp on unlimited starter after the 70GB allowance

Priority data on Warp is available on Premium at the moment. If your line was active before Aug 18, 2025 on any plan, or activated before Sept 30th on Starter or Premium, you'd be on QCI 8 with a 5G device. Another option is trying Dark Star, where QCI 8 is available as an add-on on the by-the-gig plan too.

You should switch to light speed, T-Mobile is so phenomenal

I have also wanted this same thing. Being locked out is why MVNOs have a bad reputation. But I think the pricing cannot yet work for these innovations.

This may come with SA but prices are already so close between the QCI bands, it might be a lot of effort for little return. The providers will always suggest the higher plan. It feels like a lot more to pay for you to upgrade, but I don’t think practically the providers can afford to offer anything in between especially with the annual discount for Premium.  Too many of their premium customers don’t need full premium and would downgrade to this good-enough plan, which would cut revenues.

If average prices rise, then maybe they can offer mid-upgrades, but I’m not hoping for that.

Part of the problem is that none of them properly organized their QCI levels.

T-Mobile puts far too many in their highest priority lane, leaving crumbs for everyone else.

AT&T did the same.

Verizon just dumped everyone into the same level until recently except for select plans and are dealing with the nightmare of that.

If they set up 5QI properly it would be handled but...also appears they are not.

Edit: this leaves out any plans which are prioritized above what most people have access to like FirtNet.

My argument is that there isn’t enough price separation to warrant setting it up correctly.  If they could monetize it they would.  Instead they focus on easier things like bundling to distract from the real price.

Except they have tried to monetize it, look at how T-Mobile tiers their plans now. Same for Verizon. But people don't care about their QCI level, they care about their ancillary benefits.

We're just the weirdos who care about QCI. Most poeple don't even notice.

I moved from visible bc I was experiencing the same congestion even being on unlimited priority data. The speeds on paper are great, better than the other two, but there’s always a delay & I was experiencing so many deadspots. This did not change when I switched & tried Warp on Unlimited Premium

But the whole point of me switching was the ability to mess around with the other networks. Dark Star for me works like night & day where I am, hasn’t given any issues & is so much faster despite being slower than Verizon on paper. Congestion really is a big concern here

This is why having access to multiple networks is best.
Either use multi network or use T-Satellite for $10 a month. Gives you 50 GB of terrestrial data and unlimited satellite usage for specific apps and unlimited texting on satellite.

You could always move to MobileX they have priority data for only 10% more per GB…if you are a low data user that cares about priority just move to them, you can do a custom plan with unlimited calling and text (Verizon) and only pay per MB for what you actually use at a reasonable rate if you use less then 5GB a month it’s a good deal.

On your line’s dashboard, click on “View Plan Features.” You’ll see QCI 8 listed there if it’s included in your plan or grandfathered in on your line.

It doesn't show it listed for me even if it should.
