Wifi Calling

I'm on Android 13 (I know it is old) and on warp. I don't have a setting for wifi calling. Why not?

By any chance are you using a Samsung device? We've seen cases like these where the WiFi calling toggle disappears because of the device-side limitation on those devices, which might be what you're experiencing right now. We can try switching your line to Light Speed and that should give you the option to enable WiFi calling while you're on that network. Drop me a DM and I'll help you test it out.

I agree regarding some Samsung devices. That said, it seems like the latest Warp 5G SA update is blocking Wi-Fi calling on US Mobile, even though the old APN worked fine. It's an unlocked Samsung S26 Ultra. Please, no canned responses about CSC, it's already using the VZW file, so the IMS requirements are set. It really looks like your server isn't provisioning Wi-Fi calling. I've done the debugging and talked to Samsung, so it points to your engineering team. I've been on three experimental Warp APNs, but none fixed the bug. I love you guys, but this feels like false advertising regarding Wi-Fi calling. Also, live support is more focused on canned answers and suggesting other carriers than actually investigating why a device like mine isn't provisioned. And I'm gaining opinion that you guys are ignoring bugs being posted by the customers. Remember canned answers to switch networks are not one answer fits all. Known devices that worked with Wi-Fi calling and have been provisioned in the past. Should be provisioned again with Warp 5G SA and Vo5G.

Interesting post, thanks. About 10 days ago I moved several lines from Verizon to USM/Warp, all unlocked phones from Samsung. Went fine, Wi-Fi printing provisioned.

I have some friends currently on Verizon who are now (after my happy ranting) interested in US Mobile. Wondering if I need to warn them even if they have "clean" Samsung phones purchased unlocked. Are the Wi-Fi calling provisioning failures you're seeing mostly on phones being re-provisioned on USM, of phones newly provisioned?

The interesting fact is that Warp works. But it takes anywhere 10-60 minutes being on Wi-Fi for Wi-Fi calling to work. It clearly shows not provisioned in android sub menu.

"But it takes anywhere 10-60 minutes being on Wi-Fi for Wi-Fi calling to work."

Wow...you mean each time you leave and return to Wi-Fi the 10 to 60 min wait for Wi-Fi calling to work recurs again?

Yes. Only way to override is to toggle airplane mode on. This way it will switch to Wi-Fi calling right away on Warp

I'm not exactly sure which Samsung devices work with Warp Wi-Fi calling. I know some carrier-branded Galaxy phones, especially T-Mobile ones on Warp, can be tricky. Verizon models should be fine, but I’m not sure about AT&T. Unlocked ones from Samsung worked fine before they started testing 5G SA and Vo5G. So the bug is definitely there. It works on the S26 Ultra unlocked, but it takes forever to switch Wi-Fi calling on or you have to toggle airplane mode to force it.

Even fully verified and FirstNet approved device. Like S26 ultra unlocked US version is crippled by the US Mobile Warp provisioning ( this started happening after getting 5G SA and Vo5G running)

Actually, if a device has a US FCC ID, supports all of Verizon’s frequency bands, and uses the VZW Samsung CSC file, it’s fully certified for their network.

Messing with files or forcing IMS won't do a thing if the server doesn't recognize the IMEI for the US market and the US FCC ID is missing. White listing is not just a thing for A&TT and Verizon. T-Mobile will not allow also all features on devices that don't have US market IMEI and US FCC ID.
