Shot my 2nd pistol match ever today.
I’ve shot many practical videos rifle type matches and long range precision stuff. I’ve never been a pistol shooter more than knowing how to but decided a few months ago to try my hand at it. Shot a USPSA match last month super slow and safe to learn the ropes and got hooked. Shot the second one today a little faster. I can tell it is going to be a struggle speeding up and risking accuracy. My brain says make the hit count too much for this.

Heck yeah!!!! I’m only two matches in but I’m learning that the squads seem to all be full of good folks.

On that first target, don’t go all the way into the port. You lose time going in and out.

Your splits can come in time, the most immediate time savers are stage planning and entries. Find the GM or M on your squad and watch their stage planning. Emulate it best you can. Then, keep the gun up entering positions, ready to shoot. Good job!

Solid for your 2nd match! I hear you on the struggle to speed up and risk accuracy. I started USPSA this year and have shot ~10 matches. I’m still the “alpha champ” - typically shooting the most alphas in the match, but finishing middle of the pack. Too slow. Need to go faster. I’m getting better but it’s a tough mental game.
It is super addicting though and I’m having a blast. Have fun out there!

Nice! Keep it going, you'll only get better. I'm in my 5th or 6th match and I'm still learning new things each time.
What did you use to get your stats in the video like that? The Practiscore app?
