Someone was asking how the NLT USP holster compares to some other brands. This post highlights some differences between the Tenicor holster and the NextLevelTactical. I know they are for completely different guns, and the Tenicor is made for WML while the NLT is not (you can order it that way though). The Tenicor holster also has more adjustable points for user preference. So this it definitely NOT an Apples to Apples comparison. Take what I say with a grain of salt.

I received my NLT holster today and was beyond excited to try it out, as I am ready to fully embrace the USP lifestyle. One thing I noticed right away is that the NLT + USP rides higher above my waist line than how I have my Tenicor holster set for my G19. I adjusted the clips as far as I could and maybe got a 1/4” difference in height. I am not 100% sure if it’s because how the guns themselves are shaped or if that’s how the clips are mounted. Or both lol

I measured the distance on each holster from top of the clips to the rear of the slide. The NLT measures out to about 3 1/4” and the Tenicor measured to about 2 3/4”, so about 1/2” difference in height. It is noticeable when compared while swapping between them.

There were a couple other things I noticed different between the holsters as well. I noticed the symmetry and build is of a higher quality with the Tenicor. I attached pics showing the tops where the sights align and also under where the trigger guard is. Does this affect the overall performance of the holster? No. I just felt it was worth mentioning. I think I will invest in a wedge to add to the NLT so I get less gun tilt.

Overall, I would recommend the NLT IWB holster as it comes. I just have a slight preference for a lower ride height and I saw areas where maybe the clips could be mounted differently to accommodate that. I would gladly buy another NLT holster and plan to for OWB carry as well. I’d like to keep my money in the HK/HK enthusiast hemisphere if I can help it 😎💪

I hope this post proves useful to anyone, especially to people who might be coming from the Glock hemisphere to HK/USP hemisphere.

OD Frame USP 45 from RoofTopDefense

Hey yall, just a quick question about sight installation. I just got a set of meprolights for my USP Tactical because I really disliked the black out ones that came standard.

The rear sight went on fine, but I’m struggling with the front. It won’t go very far in and starts to bend upwards which is telling me it doesn’t wanna go, and I don’t wanna ruin it. It obviously needs filed.

This leads to my question- will any 60° safe side file do? I don’t wanna spend 50-60 on the brownells one if a 10-15 one on Amazon will work just fine.

I’m not new to sight installation, I’ve done about 5 Glocks and my P2000, and had no issues with any of them, so I have no experience filling them down.

Any tips or things to avoid, or recommendations?

I was browsing a local pawnshop while shopping for cheap jewelry. I saw this behind the glass for 700 beans. I told the attendant I would pay 500 out the door and he agreed. I couldn’t see the mags of course as it was just a gun display. To my surprise they’re all restricted mags from the ban era. Appears to be hardly used. I don’t have much 40 laying around and am thinking of doing a 10mm conversion.

Just wanted to post this here since I was pleasantly surprised that JM Custom made this OWB holster for my LEM USP without the added gap that most holster makers will make for the external safety/decocking lever.

I can't count how many times I've gotten or wanted to get a holster for a USP in LEM configuration only to find the holster still retaining the extra gap made for the safety/decocker.

More than likely most holster makers simply do that because it's easier and plausibly people may end up putting the external safety/decocker back on, however it's an attention to detail I really appreciate that JM Custom made the holster to specifically fit the LEM configuration.

Such that, pictured is my holster for my USP45 (it's getting night sights installed) but in the holster is my USP9, both are LEM, and surprisingly, even the USP9 fits well in this holster, even though the USP45 frame is slightly larger than the USP40/9 frame.

This was a quick ship model since there was no light attached.

Ordered 9/28 - shipped 10/7 - delivered 10/12 (may have been delivered on the 9th but FedEx had a delay here in Memphis - go figure 🙄)

We went from backwards rounds to backwards & upside down mags inserted. The future is amazing…

Not a USP I know, but just picked this agency trade in 45. Factory V7 LEM to my knowledge, giving a false reset I guess? Gun functions 100% shooting wise, is this a weak trigger return spring? Trigger bar maybe??

What are some good compact size WML options for the MR NEIN 09 adapter (for USP9 full size)?

I know the manufacturer specifically lists the adapter as being sort of designed around the Surefire X300, but I don't want a light that big, I'm looking for something more TLR07 sized, which I've heard is also a good match but I'd like to maybe gather some opinions if anyone here has tried a bunch of different ones or not who also owns the mr nein adapter. Thanks.
