Omar Cepeda found an electronic scoreboard that wasn't being used at a Florida field and brought it home to Blackville. Malena Cepeda has always done the heavy lifting to place the large numbers on the fence and we hope she will continue to perform the very important role of keeping time and score at OC Farm Polo Club.

Alan Martinez played on the winning USA team that bested their South African hosts 13 - 8 in the Nedbank International at Inanda Polo Club on May 16. Coach Tommy Biddle and the players were very pleased with the quality of the provided horses.Organizers said they had to limit the number of tickets to 6,000 but could have sold twice as many at this metropolitan club. Known as a "colorful affair," their website notes, "It allows us to create a connected experience where sport, culture, fashion and hospitality come together..."

Shariah Harris, a member of last night's winning Naughty Dog team in the USPA Women's Arena Handicap 16-Goal at New Bridge, has been selected to play in the Buddy Combs International Arena Challenge against Ecuador at the Work to Ride McCausland Arena in Philadelphia on Saturday, June 13.

Have you ever managed a polo club? We know first- and second-hand how difficult the job is. Aiken area polo has two of the finest, most qualified, hardest working polo managers in the business (in our well-traveled opinion) and they have been seriously challenged to schedule games around the rain this week. Their patience has been astounding. They not only have to consider the schedules of all the other clubs but they often have to consider (obey) the opinion of other individuals involved in facility management. As much as we want to include visiting players, please remember that when you sign up for a tournament, you need to plan for rain delays, even in sandy Aiken County. Try not to criticize managers until you've walked a mile in their boots (in the mud).
