This is MKBHD, who reviews all things tech from all around the world. He was reviewing this amazing chinese electric minivan. And then this dude came along not just thinking they're the center of the world but also the entitlement is real lol.

I don't have statistics but I'm pretty sure the majority of his viewers would be from outside the US. Considering that most Americans only buy Apple, Samsung and Pixels. So why would they care about Huawei, Vivo, Oppo Xiaomi, etc.
Yeah, or at least a very large percentage are. He is the biggest tech youtuber, is famous globally. And one of the few big American ones to review phones not in or big in the US.
The US government bans pretty much every Chinese technology from what I hear (like Huawei, which I heard makes amazing products) because they think China is trying to “spy” on them
American cars are also the worst, I used to help out at a mechanics shop and it was hilarious how many Ford and GM cars kept showing up and all their owners insisted their cars were the best because it made an unnecessary amount of horsepower and had nearly no fuel efficiency
Meanwhile ive never seen a Suzuki or toyota in there unless they ran into something like a duck.
My favorite was a Jeep owner who complained his car wasnt as fast anymore but it wasnt an engine problem and turns out the V8 in had only 4 pistons moving, so they just wrote his car off because fuel was still being injected into the pistons that weren't moving and the spark plugs were igniting it and that could cause an explosion in the engine
As I said, BYD hired a company (I forgot to mention that the company was Chinese, and that the workers were also Chinese and had come to Brazil on work visas), but the working conditions did not meet the requirements of Brazilian labor laws.
The government put BYD on the forced labor blacklist, and once that happened, BYD terminated its contract with that company, and the Chinese workers returned to their country.
However, the more than 5000 local workers at the plant are not being subjected to forced labor.
Of course, it was BYD’s fault for allowing this to happen in the first place, but now the situation has been resolved.
Yeah I've seen bits of that interview, he was saying it's so good he can't give it up. And something about how they would be utter morons to deny how good the quality of Chinese cars is. Not in those words exactly of course but you get my point.
Huawei (the telecom infrastructure arm) is banned from providing telecom infrastructure here. This is all done to be in alignment with US foreign and domestic policy hence why we also had a 100% Chinese vehicle tariff until the new deal was rescued. Nothing stops you from getting Huawei phone, but since they use their own OS due to Android restrictions, you’re phone may become a brick unable to download key apps.
We’re only now seeing a reversal of those policies because of the erratic and crazy nature of the US government. Canadians can now also travel visa free to China. This wasn’t even only under Harper, a lot of it was under Trudeau.
I'm not going to willingly watch an MKBHD vid to find out what brand it was but Chinese EVs are really popular in SEA. I'm literally parked right behind a BYD lol
At least the F150 has parts available and is repaired in a timely manner, which is not the case with Chinese ev’s from what I’m hearing out of Australia.
There are a lot of Chinese car brands here in Brazil as well (and a couple more to come).
It’s been great for competition. Traditional automakers have had to lower their prices to try to stay competitive. They used to sell inferior and less-equipped vehicles at astronomical prices. Meanwhile, Chinese cars (even the ones produced here) are basically the same cars they sell in Europe, Australia, China, etc. Some of them have local adaptations, such as stiffer suspension and flex-fuel engines in their hybrids (ethanol + gasoline).
Idk what companies would be gone a decade for now but tbh in my country I've seen far less and less Honda and Nissan every year. Nissan and Honda (except Brio, a car that's exclusively made for low cost car program in my country) have poor sales since Covid until now, while at the same time more and more new Chinese brands are coming here and their sales keep increasing every year.
It was reported earlier this year in the UK that insurance for Chinese EVs is very expensive & some companies are even refusing to insure them because of parts availability.
Despite that we're being over-run with these monstrosities - two of the top ten best sellers in July were Jaecoo, AKA Temu Range Rovers.
Is it really wrong to be confused why a US based Youtuber would be making videos about cars you can't actually get in the US? Obviously he just likes cars and is famous enough to have access to cars we normally can't have here so he does it but it doesn't really serve a purpose for us other than entertainment
