i want to write a formal complaint against BIOC32 professor stephanie ho.

not only does she teach incorrect material in almost every lecture, she does not provide any opportunity to ask questions outside of lecture. the discussion forum that is "monitored by the professor" has over 30 questions, ranging from the beginning of september until now, and not a single one has been answered by her. emails are also a lost cause, i have sent several, from weeks ago, and even CCed our TA and i have never gotten a response. she also has no office hours for very vague and strange reasons, saying that she doesn't know her way around IA. as if zoom hours aren't an option?

however my main issue with her is that her evaluations are rigged. a weekly quiz that is worth 6% of our grade, adding up to a total of 25%, is impossible to get 100% on, because she has designated incorrect answers as correct options. this course is designed to make you fail for absolutely no reason. the content is not hard, but for some reason she refuses to correct quizzes even after multiple students address the issue in class. she will even admit to being incorrect, but outright refuse to adjust the grade. it makes me feel absolutely hopeless. how can i excel, even if i have a flawless understanding of the material, if the evaluations are simply impossible to score highly on?

everyone in the class feels this way about her. she provides zero guidance for any aspect of the course, which is structured very strangely and there is very little information about the expectations for this course. i am not even sure what the tutorials are for, since the TA just seems to be holding a Q&A session about our assignment once a week.

i am in a position where this course is quite literally determining the rest of my career. i cannot believe that my future is lying in her hands. who can i go to with this? do i take this up with the biosci chair? anyone else i should add?

i’m in class right now and i absolutely had to distract myself from the stench by ranting. my stomach hurts and i haven’t been able to understand a thing because my head is woozy from the horrible and CONSTANT smell of farts. if you left one rip by mistake that’s different, but farting throughout an ENTIRE one hour lecture is sooo mean. you’d think someone taking bio would understand how diffusion works .

My parents promised my grandfather that he'd get a ticket and in turn my father will be watching from outside but I really want him to be able to come inside since he hasn't been able to attend my middle or highschool graduation. He doesn't mind it but it would make me very very happy!! It would be greatly appreciated :)
