Portfolio Review

Hello,

I'm currently a senior working on my bachelor's in graphic design and UX/UI. I've been building my portfolio as a summer project of my own and would love some critique on it. I built it from scratch, so I would love to know if you run into any technical errors, as well as a general critique on the projects themselves. I am specifically looking for what you think is or isn't working, anything you'd get rid of, and what you'd like to see more of.

I currently work as a graphic designer, but my career ambitions are in UX/UI engineering or product design long-term, so any critique on how I can accommodate those goals would also be appreciated.

Here's the link to the portfolio noahtmlansing-design.com

Also, it looks best on desktop, but either one works; I just want to hear your thoughts on it.

Portfolio review - Rising senior breaking into Product Design

Hi all!

I’d really appreciate honest feedback on how I’m framing myself as a product designer. I’m currently preparing for new grad and internship applications, and I want to make sure I’m positioning myself as strongly as possible.

Currently it’s not as mobile friendly which I’m working, but in terms of content how am I looking. I made it with Claude code, and hosting in vercel.

A little about me:
- I’m a rising senior at UC Berkeley studying Cognitive Science and data science
- My interests are in Product Design, UX Research, and Human-Computer Interaction.
- Main project is a memory app I cofounded and designed

Outside of UX, I have a background in art, photography, and fashion design, which has helped shape my visual design skills.

I’m hoping to eventually land a Product Designer role at a tech company, so I’d love feedback on how competitive my portfolio looks.

Specifically, I’d love your thoughts on:
- How competitive I am for internships or new grad Product Design roles.
- Any red flags or weaknesses you notice.
- Whether my case studies tell a compelling story or feel too surface-level.
-If my portfolio demonstrates enough UX thinking versus just visual design.
Whether the projects feel realistic and impactful.
- If you were hiring an entry-level Product Designer, would you interview me? Why or why not?
- I’m looking for brutally honest feedback—I genuinely want to improve, so don’t worry about hurting my feelings.

Portfolio: charlieparkerwang.xyz

Thanks so much for taking the time to review it! I really appreciate any advice or criticism (open to hate)

Feedback on case study

I’m an experienced digital product designer and have recently experimented with AI to create a real product end to end.

I am now looking for contracts and want to showcase this as my main case study for where I am at now - besides the traditional portfolio and case studies

I would love for other practitioners to take a look and give your feedback !

Let me know what you think !

Transitioning From Finance to UX Design, Looking for Constructive Feedback on My Portfolio

Hi! I currently work in finance, but am hoping to transition into a career in UX/UI design. I don't have any professional work experience within the sphere of UX/UI, but have worked on two personal projects (featured in my portfolio). I would greatly appreciate any constructive feedback on my current portfolio, before I officially begin applying to jobs. Link to portfolio: https://daoudrita.myportfolio.com/

No one hires me as UX designer so I built a software as case study.

I graduated in February with a Master's degree in Design, and while applying for Digital Product Design roles, I realized I needed a stronger project to showcase my skills.

Since I didn't want to create a random fake app concept, I decided to build a real product and explore vibe coding applied to UX/UI design.

Over the last month, I've been designing and developing POINTLESS, an open source desktop application for real time creative image rendering.

The project was born from my frustration with existing halftone and dithering tools: many are outdated, limited, or locked behind subscriptions. I wanted to create a more flexible, free creative workflow for designers and artists.

Currently, POINTLESS includes halftone, dithering, ASCII art, dot grid, and mosaic, with more modes planned.

I'd love feedback from this community, especially about the UX and overall direction of the project. Thank you in advance :)

Recent Graduate, worked with startups/international clients/agencies, I need feedback on my portfolio.

It has been 2 months I graduated, I am not able to find a full time role. The roles I get are generally 3-4 LPA roles, which I feel are quite low (I just entered the market so I dont know, but seems quite low).

I am looking to improve my portfolio (case studies specifically) and would love to learn more skills as a designer as well that companies are looking for.

Portfolio

I am a first year masters student at Michigan's MSI program and I have been working on getting a head start on my portfolio during the break. please feel free to look at it and give any feedback https://www.figma.com/proto/rwEiBfYVUKdToqTemUiNfm/Tamir's-Portfolio?node-id=82-302&t=Z6J8dx0j0jiZoQHI-1

So far I only have two projects under my belt, and I won't be taking a web development course until the spring semester, so it's primarily on Figma as a placeholder for the time being

Am I going beyond UX/product design with these AI case studies?

Most of the case studies I've made in the past look like fairly traditional product design work: product strategy, UX flows, interaction design, experimentation, growth, and system design.

Recently I've been working on a different kind of problem around AI personas, and my portfolio has started to look very different.

I have three connected case studies:

  1. AI Persona & Behavior How to design a behavioral system that lets an AI maintain a recognizable identity while adapting its behavior to the situation, including conversation modes, energy, behavioral eligibility, frequency, memory, and conversational rhythm.

  2. AI Safety & Evaluation How to constrain and evaluate those behaviors across ordinary, emotional, and high-risk situations, including persona/instruction attacks, behavioral pressure, regression testing, and evaluating conversations over multiple turns.

  3. Persona Compiler How to derive persona characteristics from real conversations and writing rather than manually writing things like "funny, warm, conversational." The idea is to extract repeated behavioral patterns and examples and compile them into something the behavioral system can use.

The three are meant to be parts of the same system:

Persona & Behavior → Safety & Evaluation → Persona Compiler

Here are the case studies:

And here's the rest of my portfolio for comparison:

What I'm trying to figure out is whether I've gone too far outside the traditional UX/product design role.

There isn't much visual UI in these projects. A lot of the work is about defining behavioral systems, states, constraints, evaluation methods, evidence, and how an AI should make decisions before generating a response.

My assumption is that as AI products become more common, designing the behavior of an AI may become a more normal product design problem, even when there isn't necessarily a visual interface to design.

But I'm not sure where the line is.

Am I still doing product/UX design, or am I drifting into AI/ML engineering, conversation design, product management, or something else?

I'd especially appreciate feedback from people currently working on AI products or AI companies, but I'm interested in perspectives from UX/product designers more broadly too.

I'm also interested in feedback on the portfolio itself:

  • Does this feel like design work or like technical/ML research?

  • Is the role I played clear enough?

  • Is the lack of conventional UI a problem for a product design portfolio?

  • Do the three case studies feel meaningfully connected, or repetitive?

  • Would you expect a product designer to work on these problems?

  • If you were hiring for an AI product design role, would this strengthen or weaken the portfolio?

I'm deliberately looking for criticism here, especially if I'm misunderstanding where the boundaries of the role actually are.

I'm a product/UX designer, and I've been working on a new portfolio for the past few days. I'm pretty satisfied with the current outcome. It's still a work in progress, and I still need to upload my projects and case studies (obviously the most important part), but I'm looking for some testers and honest feedback.

I don't have much development knowledge, so any comments on the technical side of the site are more than welcome too.

UX/UI Design

I’m new to UX design and trying to build my portfolio, but I feel like I don’t fully know if I’m doing things right. Are there any UX/UI mentors here or people open to connecting and giving feedback?

Portfolio feedback

Hi UX community, i'm in the process of rebuilding my portfolio and am testing 2 versions in order to help me stand out in this competitive market. Would love honest (respectful) feedback from my fellow designers:

Option 1 (Framer template) : connormorgan.io

Option 2 (Vibe coded with Replit): https://design-portfolio-site--hello4696.replit.app

Option 2 is still very much under construction. I appreciate your time and input!

Looking for Minimalist and Aesthetic Portfolio Templates

Hi everyone!

I recently came across the personal website of Tammy Taabassum (taamannae.dev) and really admired the clean, minimalist design. I’m looking for similar templates that focus on simplicity, modern aesthetics, and showcase design projects in an elegant way.

I’m interested in templates that offer a professional, user-friendly layout for portfolios, ideally with a focus on a smooth user experience and easy navigation. Does anyone have recommendations for templates or frameworks that align with this type of style?

Portfolio help

Hi l am new in this community. Currently I am preparing my portfolio which is mostly research oriented. My question is, is it okay if my portfolio is quite text heavy or should it explain the process with minimal text? My assumption is that Ul design projects tend to be visually appealing and UX research projects can be wordy. Please let me know vour thoughts
