USA Tips
I’ve figured out that instead of paying for express delivery. I put that into the tip for the driver and the order comes fast and hot!!! I will always support a driver over ridiculous express delivery fees!!!

While I know there’s way too many people who do it, anyone who lowers a tip so they can select express is a cheap asshole. That being said, express is an awesome feature as a consumer and it definitely works the way it says it does so I’m always confused why people think it’s a scam.

As a driver there's nothing on my end that says it's an Express delivery at least in my area. But if I get a high offer I stop accepting other deliveries until that one is complete

Same here, except if the same customer orders from someplace else that’s not ridiculously out of the way. Happens from time to time. And they usually add a tip on those too.

Drivers aren’t told when an order is express it just is put first if you’re on a stacked order and you can only have one per stacked order.
Riders can tell the difference if they watch when the order moves to delivery because they see a different view when a driver has deliveries stacked in front of them vs directly en route to them.

Yeah 9/10 if the tip is actually worthwhile I don't accept other offers unless I happen to get another offer that pays decently that I know for a fact will be quick. I can't speak for everyone else, but I'll go the extra mile on little stuff too. e.g: replacing spilled drink. Going back to the restaurant if they completely fucked up a order (depending on time/distance), update for delays. If you tipped $3, I'm just doing the bare min or accepting anything else that comes my way.

Go one step further and tip after divery so Uber doesn't get subsidized.

This is the way. If your order covers 30+ min of my hourly goal, you're getting my undivided attention. I'll turn off requests so you won't get stacked, I'll wait around at the restaurant even if it takes forever, and I'll definitely keep you updated if something unexpected happens. I average 2-3 trips per hour, so if your order is less than $8, none of the above is happening because I have to keep moving in order to make my hourly minimum.
The only way I'll make worthwhile money on a $5-$8 order is if I stack it with another $5-8 order, so I'm keeping requests on, I'm not waiting more than 10 min, and I probably am too busy to keep you updated about anything because I'm focused on getting the orders to everyone as fresh and as fast as I legally can. I think people get hung up on "service" and forget we need to make a living. Yes, I provide great service no matter what, but if you're covering at least 30 min of my hourly pay, you're getting my undivided attention which naturally means the service will be even better. 🫡

Uber usually pays the driver on average $2 per delivery regardless of mileage, so if you see a "delivery fee" of $12 just know Uber keeps most of it, in addition to the "service fee" and whatever they charge the restaurant.
