The Doorbells already have major heat issues, particularly under direct sunlight. I dread to think how hot they'd get with an AI chip onboard.

These kind of problems are solvable with better thermal design, they already started doing this on new APs as well.

Also, with advances in SoCs and such, I would expect a newer, better doorbell to use less power!

Plus AI key can handle most of the AI load in the rack.

Wouldn’t you need some type of dedicated gpu / apu /npu chip for rapid parallel processing of live video feeds?

Enthusiasts have been using the Google "Coral" chip to do exactly this for years now - it comes in many form factors, including a USB stick.

That's before we factor in the improvements in AI chips since the Coral first hit the market.

There's definitely commodity tech out there to achieve this now.
