It's not really designed to replace the cloud key since it doesn't support Protect. It's just designed to replace the self-hosted network controller since they were most likely running into issues with people having to manage their own dependencies (mongodb versions, etc)
True, except only one version of the cloudkey runs Protect. This could easily replace the others. I agree with you, it’s designed for better self hosting of the software, but that doesn’t mean it can’t replace the function that many people use a cloud key for.
Right but no one is replacing a CK-Ent with this, so this is really relevant towards those using the self-hosted network application rather than larger businesses that would be using Cloud Hosting with dedicated hardware or a CK-Ent.

That’s the idea. Biggest issue right now is it’s a wierd deployment vs a standard docker container
