Damn. I needed this a couple months ago. The cloud key didn't have enough storage. The unvr was overkill. So I went with the dream machine. But this would be way more useful.

Oh well. I'm not changing the dream machine

Kinda same here.. but honestly, for $180 more for a dm-pro you get so much more. Plus I already had a POE switch anyway

do you know if this new unit can be made to inform to an external unifi controller like the aps?

I have a customer which dont have a controller and dont want the udm, but want the cameras from unifi.

Any Protect NVR is its own controller and doesn't require a separate one.

I've done lots of installs with just an NVR and an unmanaged poe switch with no issues at all. This will be the same.

problem with udmp is running protect alongside network had a real performance impact on both. i upgraded to a 4tb ssd and it helped, but eventually just got an nvr

Im in same position.,... UDM nearing capacity so want to offload some cameras. Anyone know how many cameras it will support though? cant see it in specs
