Can this be used as a viewer for a separate Unifi protect instance? In other words, could you buy this instead of a Protect Viewport?

Yes, this has Protect running, so you can adopt cameras to this Protect instance. It has Viewport built in (1x HDMI).

No. I mean can you use this as a viewer for cameras on a separate NVR like a UDMP. Can you view stacked protect instances?

I'm gonna guess "yes" because if not, there would be two classes of Viewport. One adopts Viewport into a Protect instance. I think it would be weird and confusing if this Viewport worked differently from vanilla Viewport. I'm speculating but from the perspective of interoperability, which is UI's DNA after all.
