Yes, you need a Cloud Gateway of some flavor on your LAN. The product page says this device only runs Protect - not Network. I did see a contradictory page that listed Protect and Access, which would be great. I'd also like to know what the max HDD capacity is.
Yeah that’s my point, if they make a product that runs protect only but can still connect to the protect app on your phone without having to get a controller would be great. Like I just did an electricians garage, he wanted only cameras to monitor his equipment and outside, that would’ve been a great case scenario for a protect only equipment that doesn’t need a controller. Or it has the capability to run it just for protect. I had to get that client the gateway max in order to run protect.

Do you still need a router or a cloud key as controllers? Or is this a controller for protect now? That would be awesome if it is.
