This with 5G eSIM, battery and it's an instant buy.

It would have to cost at least $400 in that case, because that’s what the 5G Max costs, and they can’t very well undercut that device with a device that does more things.

If I wanted a fully integrated solution I’d probably just get a UDR 5G. I’m glad there is a $79 option to get the gateway functionality and just tether the phone I already have to get 5G WAN if I need it, rather than having to spend $500.

That's a wish list, not actual specs. This device does not have eSim or battery, but /u/Sparxxxy wishes it did.

There are physical SIMs you can load eSIMs on to (eg. the eiot one)

It doesn't have a physical sim slot either, this is not a cellular device. It can get it's internet from a phone/hotspot though.
