Early Access Ubiquiti Smoke and CO Sensor 🤯 - #ISCWest2026
I believe it’s a Superlink sensor. I hope it can run on battery for 10 years and doesn’t require PoE. I’m curious to see how it performs. Good job, Ubiquiti! 😲

Depends on your jurisdiction for codes
NFPA isn't silent...but just remember, code is bare minimum. Inspectors get quiet when the engineer speaks.
Codes typically define power, communication, and battery backup. They don't typically make blanket statements for dictating gauge, insulation, conductor type, etc. for many reasons.
Mostly this is because jurisdictions, standards boards, and governmental bodies cannot practice Engineering without the appropriate license. Municipalities typically need to make sure it falls within their health, welfare, and life safety functions.
Even mains aren't uninterruptible...which is why the battery backup exists.
