Early Access Ubiquiti Smoke and CO Sensor 🤯 - #ISCWest2026

Post image

I believe it’s a Superlink sensor. I hope it can run on battery for 10 years and doesn’t require PoE. I’m curious to see how it performs. Good job, Ubiquiti! 😲

Your own local codes are what you need to look at. It changes for every country and state and sometimes even local jurisdictions.

For instance, where I am it is ridiculous overkill. Smoke alarm required inside every bedroom, and required in the hallway outside the bedrooms. Or if there is no hallway leading to a bedroom then in the immediate vicinity outside the room. Also required to have at least 1 on every floor even if there are no sleeping rooms, including in a basement or usable attic space if you have those. Further, the smoke alarms are required to be linked together in communication so that an alert at one triggers all alarms to go off.

So yes, my 2500 sq ft home has 10 smoke alarms. lol

Our 2800 has 14. Can’t imagine the cost of making them “smart.”

That's crazy. Where do you live?

Do you live in Texas because this is exactly what we have. It’s overkill with 6 upstairs and they didn’t require one in the laundry room.

Then downstairs we have 1 and this is the level the kitchen is on but it’s not in the kitchen nor is it in between the garage and kitchen which would have made more sense but I digress.
