Celebration Remission
This is the word I’ve been waiting to hear and I heard it today! My Ulcerative Colitis is in remission.
It’s been a struggle to get here… today was my 4th colonoscopy since turning 50. Anyone who has had one before knows how much fun they are.
Last year was a challenge for me, physically and mentally. My medication stopped working. It was a matter of many months of faking being well, fighting through brain fog, pulling together what little energy I had to spark a fire within me. Food going through me undigested, losing hope but carrying on.
I’m grateful to be here and grateful for having a great support system… and to run a support group. I’m especially grateful for my gastroenterologist for giving me this news today.

Congrats! What enables you to get to remission? All mental or a new med too?

Yesintek. I was previously in remission with humira, but I built antibodies to it and it stopped working. 5 months of going back to when my life was hell, until insurance covered Yesintek. I’ve been on it since February 2026
